Kings XI Punjab and Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell has been fined for breaching the IPL code of conduct during the Punjab side’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday. He was charged for breaching Article 2.1.2, although no further details of his offence have been revealed.

Maxwell admitted to the Level 1 offence on Monday for breaching Article 2.1.2, which covers "abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a match". The charges were confirmed in an official IPL statement which did not disclose any details about the offence.

Glenn Maxwell, who was struggling for form in this season’s IPL, finally struck a half-century in last night’s game against Mumbai Indians, only to end up on the losing side. Despite his indifferent start to the season, Maxwell told IPLt20.com that he’s feeling good and there’s not much to worry about his form.

"I've been feeling fine the whole tournament – I've just been finding random ways to get out which can happen in this game," said Maxwell.

"The last two dismissals I hit the ball in the middle of the bat … there's been nothing wrong with my form – I've been hitting the ball as well as ever," he added.

Maxwell has also previously been charged for hitting a garbage can after being dismissed, during the 2014 edition of the Champions League. Maxwell’s teammate Shaun Marsh was also warned for a similar violation in the game against Sunrisers, but the southpaw escaped without a fine.
