Ravichandran Ashwin, who picked up 7 wickets during West Indies' second innings of the first Test in a superb spell of spin bowling, has toppled Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah from the top of the ICC rankings. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, has moved up to 12th following his double hundred at Antigua.

Ashwin, who was last at the top of the rankings at the end of 2015, moved up one place after his brilliant performance in the first Test. His century in the first innings has also further strengthened his position at the top of the all-rounders rankings.

Yasir Shah, who became the first leg-spinner in 11 years to move to the top of the chart after picking up 10 wickets in the first Test at Lord's, has endured a disappointing outing in the second Test match against England. The leggie dropped down four places to No.5, with James Anderson, Stuart Board, and Dale Steyn moving up above him, along with Ashwin.

Englishman Joe Root, who produced a magnificent double century in the 2nd Test at Manchester, has moved up two places to the No.2 spot in the rankings and now trails Steve Smith by just 24 points. England captain Alastair Cook, a centurion in the 2nd Test, has also moved back into the top-10, with Angelo Mathews dropping out.
