Batting great Sunil Gavaskar has expressed his surprise at the exclusion of Amit Mishra for the ongoing second Test against England in Visakhapatnam, as the leg-spinner made way for his statemate Jayant Yadav who was called up for his debut.

"It's surprising that Amit Mishra has been dropped. I think he has been made a scapegoat for India's failure to bowl out England in the first Test in Rajkot," Gavaskar told NDTV.
