Rain continues to play spoilsport in the second league game of the Duleep Trophy for the third consecutive day here at the Greater Noida Stadium. Riding on an unbeaten partnership between Sheldon Jackson and Dinesh Karthik, India Blue reached a total of 285 before rains curtailed the day.

As an outright result in the match looked highly unlikely, both the teams had their task cut out for the day. Take the first innings lead and secure three important points. In a bid to achieve that, Blue scored runs in a brisk pace. The two overnight batsmen, Sheldon Jackson and Dinesh Karthik, played shots all around the ground to keep the score-card moving.

The decision of Green skipper, Yuvraj Singh to bring out the pacers ahead of Chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav, went against them as the duo drove and cut the pacers with a lot of Ă©lan. Jackson was the more fluent among the duo.

Although a total of 78 overs of game have been possible till now, the wicket hasn’t shown any type of assistance for the pacers unlike the previous games with the pink ball. Jackson took advantage of that and has been complemented nicely by former Indian stumper, Diensh Karthik.

Only 16.2 overs of game were possible on day three, and a first innings-finish does not look likely as a steady shower is predicted today as well. Both the teams need to brush up and play aggressive cricket to push for higher honours on the final day of the game.
