Royal Challengers Bangalore replace Sarfaraz Khan with Harpreet Singh
RCB
RCB have replaced Sarfaraz Khan with Harpreet Singh Bhatia for the remainder of the IPL campaign after the former was ruled out with an injury. Bhatia had initially missed the IPL auction after news agencies wrongly reported that he was arrested for driving his car onto a station platform in Mumbai.
Harpreet has previous experience of playing in the IPL with the Kolkata Knight Riders and the now defunct Pune Warriors India. He was in fine form in the domestic season, topping Madhya Pradeshâs charts in the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy competition, with 271 runs in five innings at an average of 67.75 and a strike-rate of 93.77. He impressed in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy as well, being the second highest run-scorer with 537 runs at 53.70.

But now, Harpreet is set for a new beginning as he has been named as the replacement for Sarfaraz Khan in the RCB squad as reported by Wisden India. Sarfaraz had suffered a leg injury before the start of IPL 2017 during RCBâs final practice session at the Chinnaswamy stadium when he fell behind the ropes and had to be stretchered off the field. Though he returned to the field later RCB had said that he was likely to miss the majority of the tournament and now Harpreet being named as his replacement confirms the news.
Along with his batting abilities, Harpreet can bowl medium pace, as well and Bangalore will need him to fire given that are currently sixth on the points table and need to win the majority of their remaining eight league games to have any chance of making the playoffs.
