Explosive opening batsman Brendon McCullum has advised a fan to not emulate him, but follow current Kiwi captain Kane Williamson, to be a technically proficient batsman. Williamson, after warming the bench for four matches, slammed 89 runs against Delhi Daredevils for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Over the years, Brendon McCullum, through his brash and brutal power-hitting, has made the world sit up and take notice. His contribution to the popularity of the IPL was unparalleled too. Playing for KKR, he struck an unbeaten 158 from a mere 73 deliveries in the very first match of the IPL and that guaranteed him a place in the pantheon of IPL deities.

While he has always been the fan of the T20 format, he himself admits that his batting comes with an element of frustration, so much so that he advised a fan to follow the aesthetically pleasing Kane Williamson.

Replying to a tweet from a fan, who wrote, Silly Midoff and Brendon McCullum are a sweet set up, Baz, as he popularly known as, replied, “One piece of advice, probably better to try play like Kane Williamson rather than me. Less frustration for sure! Haha”

Williamson didn't get a chance to play in the first four matches for the Sunrisers Hyderabad but grabbed the opportunity with both the hands hitting a magnificent 89 runs off 51 balls against Delhi Daredevils. He was fluidity personified in the innings as he didn't attempt any out-of-the-box shots on his way to get the runs.
