Age is said to be a just a number for some and Anadi Tagde is certainly one of those. At the tender age of nine, while most other girls her age are still playing with toys, Anadi has impressed everyone with her abilities with the ball and even made it to the U-19 squad.

Given that Anadi’s mother Dipti was a good cricketer back in her day, the sport perhaps came naturally to Anadi. But even by those standards, the child from Indore is clearly a special talent.

After honing Anadi’s skills herself initially, she enrolled her with the Happy Wanderers Cricket Club eight months ago. Anadi, a student of class four, repaid her mother’s faith by making it to the U-19 squad as she left senior cricketers and selectors stunned with her bowling skills, especially her control over line and length.

Anadi’s love for the game is so much that even if she is asked to get up in the middle of the night and bowl she would happily do so. But she’s also very stubborn and Anadi’s persistence paid off recently when she forced her father to take the family to a recent IPL 2017 game at the Holkar stadium in Indore, where she paid close attention to Kings XI Punjab bowler Ishant Sharma and his field placing techniques.
