Andrew Tye (3/12) and Aaron Finch (72) were the heroes of the show as Gujarat Lions ran riot at the Chinnaswamy to secure just their third win of the season. Bangalore, however, for the second game running crumbled under pressure as their entire top order was dismissed within 10 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Virat Kohli - (3/10)

Yet another disappointing performance by the RCB captain. He will need to improve his performances drastically if he wants his side to qualify for the playoffs this season.

Chris Gayle - (3/10)

Like most of the games he has played so far this season, he got off to a good start but yet again failed to deliver. He has already been dropped once this season, and if his form continues, he might find himself warming the bench again in the next game.

AB de Villiers - (2/10)

Brain fade, pressure, or just a rush of blood to the head, what he did today was unacceptable. Like the KKR game, all eyes were on him to provide the much-needed stability in the middle overs but he too let his side down and how. Needs to play according to the situation - something he is not doing right now.

Travis Head - (3/10)

A cameo worth forgetting. He followed up his golden duck by conceding 11 runs off his five balls. Should be replaced by Shane Watson in the next game.

Kedar Jadhav - (5/10)

The only RCB player who looked like he knew how to tackle the pitch with his 4 boundaries and a six. However, having said that, attempting a late cut for a ball on leg stump when third man was up in the circle was a, let's say “questionable decision”.

Mandeep Singh - (4/10)

Not only did he play a part in ABD’s dismissal, he was horrendous after that as well. Mandeep scored just 8 runs off 14 balls and the first big hit he attempted ended up in the hands of Jadeja at square leg.

Pawan Negi - (4/10)

Tried to up the tempo in the middle overs with some brilliant stroke play scoring 32 off 18 balls. But having hit Soni for two sixes off three balls there was no reason to go for the big shot again in the same over. With the ball, he conceded 24 runs of two overs. He might not be a part of playing XI in the next game.

Samuel Badree - (5/10)

He was the best bowler on the day for RCB and that is not saying a lot. Even though the West Indian picked up two wickets, Finch took him to the cleaners and Badree ended up with an economy of 9.66 in his 3 overs.

Sreenath Aravind - (6/10)

The only bowler in the RCB team who looked like troubling the Gujarat batsmen. Was unlucky not to get a wicket on the day but he can take some solace in the fact that he had the best economy (6.33) amongst his peers.

Yuzvendra Chahal - (4/10)

A lot more was expected from the Bangalore leggie on a day when his team was defending a modest target. He did dismiss Raina for the fifth time in his career but having overstepped, there is nothing he would like to remember from this game.

Aniket Choudhary - (4/10)

Having been brought in for Tymal Mills, the 27-year-old was disappointing against the Lions. He ended up with figures of 0/21 off 2 overs and could be another one who might not be a part of the team in the next game.

Gujarat Lions

Brendon McCullum - (4/10)

Wasn’t able to get going at all today. The Kiwi struggled to get his timing right and eventually ended up scooping one to de Villiers at long on for just 3.

Ishan Kishan - (5/10)

He was promoted up the order to set a tempo for his side and the teenager did just that scoring 16 off 11 balls - all of his runs came from boundaries.

Aaron Finch - (8/10)

What a performance! Not only did his 34-ball 72 secure the win for his side, Finch walked away with the record of the fastest half century by a Lions player as well. If he can continue to hit the ball that cleanly, Gujarat have a great chance of making the playoffs.

Suresh Raina - (7/10)

Supported Finch well before coming into his own finishing with 34 off 30 balls. Not only is he well clear of Virat Kohli as the highest ever run scorer in the IPL, Raina also holds the orange cap this season.

Dinesh Karthik - (5/10)

Not much to do for the Gujarat wicket-keeper. He did, however, let a few balls through in the RCB innings.

Ravindra Jadeja - (6/10)

Picked up the wicket of Jadhav who was looking threatening en route to finishing with figures of 2/28 in his four overs. More importantly, though, got rid of de Villiers with a brilliant run out.

James Faulkner - (6/10)

Brought back into the team for the game, the Aussie had a decent outing conceding just 15 runs in his three overs. Aravind’s wicket in the last over was just a bonus.

Andrew Tye - (9/10)

How good has he been this season? Got rid of Gayle and Head in his first two deliveries and didn’t concede a single boundary in his four overs. Mandeep Singh’s wicket was just the cherry on the top as he ended up contributing just 12 runs to RCB’s score.

Basil Thampi - (7/10)

Got the all-important wicket of Kohli, be it on a bad ball. Although he did concede quite a few runs in his four overs, a decent outing for the 23-year-old.

Nathu Singh - (6/10)

Was unfortunate to bowl just two overs. Gave away just eight runs in his first two overs that were bowled right at the start and the 21-year-old looks like a great prospect for the future.

Ankit Soni - (5/10)

Didn’t have a dream debut but it wasn’t a nightmare as well. He was smashed for quite a few big shots by Negi, so claiming his wicket would definitely have given him some pleasure

MATCH KA HERO - ANDREW TYE

MATCH KA MUJRIM - AB DE VILLIERS
