Cricket Australia have recalled James Faulkner and Nathan Coulter Nile to the squad for the upcoming ODI series against India. Australia are scheduled to play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is in India in September and October and will be looking to exact revenge for a narrow Test series loss earlier this year.
Cricket Australia have announced their squad for the upcoming tour of India and it sees the return of all-rounder James Faulkner as well as fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile. While Faulkner last played an ODI in February this year against New Zealand, Coulter Nile last featured for the Kangaroos against West Indies in Bridgetown in June.
However, Coulter Nile had a successful IPL 2017 as he picked up 15 wickets in eight games for KKR, and is expected to make a big impression during the India tour. Cricket Australia selector Trevor Hohns even talked up Coulter-Nile's return while also praising all-rounder James Faulkner's familiarity with the sub-continent.
"Nathan brings raw pace to the side with good variation. It is great to see him back from injury and we are hopeful he will have a big impact in this series. "James Faulkner is a solid One-Day campaigner and is very familiar with sub continent conditions, coming off a very good tour of Sri Lanka last year. We hope that he will take his chance in returning to the one-day side," Cricbuzz reported Hohns as saying.
Meanwhile, uncapped left-arm fast bowler Jason Behrendorff has been picked in the T20I squad. Australia are scheduled to play five ODIs and three T20Is in India between September and October.
