VVS Laxman was a pleased man after seeing Indian top-order doing brilliantly in almost every match and has termed Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan as “impact batsmen”. Pointing out their high strike rate, Laxman has stated that the batsmen are dictating the terms more often than not.

Much of India’s success in the past one year has been attributed to India’s growing pace stock, but the Indian top batting order could be equally credited for the success, who have been tremendously consistent taking the pressure away from the bowlers. While Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been the fulcrum of the line-up, Shikhar Dhawan made sure that he wasn’t left much behind.

Yesterday, the southpaw scored his 12th ODI century and remained unbeaten to steer India to the series win against Sri Lanka. VVS Laxman has lauded the contributions of them and has stated that it is down to the top-order’s performances that India are managing such supremacy in the game.

"All the three batsmen finish the game. Rohit Sharma played 50 overs in Mohali, today it was Shikhar Dhawan. Virat Kohli has done that 'n' number of times. That is so important," said Laxman during the post-match on Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the series.

"It's not only getting to personal milestones. It's about finishing the match. That's why India is lucky to have these three batsmen, who are impact batsmen. Their high strike rate means they are dictating the terms, not allowing the bowlers to do so. They take the responsibility and that's why India has had a fantastic 2017," added the Indian great.

With Virat Kohli enjoying a break from the game, Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team and continue doing it for the upcoming T20I series as well, which starts on December 20 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
