David Lloyd sarcastically took a dig at Virat Kohli on his role in Anil Kumble's resignation from the post of the Indian head coach via a tweet after his dismissal for 11 in the 3rd ODI against Winidies. However, Indian cricket fans didn't take it easy and trolled the Englishman for his sarcasm.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has drawn flak from many cricketing experts since Anil Kumble stepped down from the post of the Indian coach and cited his 'untenable' relationship with the Delhi batsman as the reason for the same.
The 28-year old was apparently unhappy with the former leg-spinner's control over the dressing room and his demands of a regimented lifestyle from the players. Kohli refused to change his hostile stance against Kumble's style of man-management when the Cricket Advisory Committee(CAC) approached him following which the former leg-spinner resigned from the post.
As a result of Kumble's untimely resignation, the Indian team departed to the Caribbean sans a coach, but have been able to put up a commendable show against the home team winning the second and third ODI convincingly by margins of 103 and 93 runs respectively. Kohli played a pivotal role in India's second ODI win with a fantastic 87 while he also scored 32 runs in the third ODI. However, the Delhi batsman failed to replicate the same and fell prey to the invariable bounce of the Antigua pitch and was dismissed for 11.
David Lloyd who was watching the match tweeted,"Ind 2 down v WI ...Kohli out ...Coach fault"
