Newly appointed head coach Ravi Shastri has aired his views on Rahul Dravid by stating that if the former batsman is available, then he has no problem working with him. He also mentioned that he's fine if Zaheer meets all conditions as required by the BCCI and can be invited as and when required.

The Cricket Advisory Committee which includes the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, and VVS Laxman, confirmed Shastri as a head coach and announced that Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid would act in the roles of the bowling coach and as a batting consultant respectively. But later, Shastri batted for his own choices for his core team.

Now, Shastri has claimed that he has no problem working with Dravid as his experience will be very useful if he can join the team as a consultant.

"I'm very clear about that. Rahul can bring great advantages and we all know that. If he can decide on how he can divide his time and let the BCCI know when he can be available, I am all for it," Shastri told TOI.

The 55-year-old selected Bharat Arun over Zaheer as bowling coach and his choice was finalised after the meeting with the management. The new team India head coach clarified that he’s fine if the pacer meets all conditions as required by the BCCI and can be invited as and when needed.

"I have myself given this a serious thought. It's a long way forward - two years - and there's going to be a lot of planning required in terms of inviting consultants from time to time," he said.

After this development, the Sri Lanka tour will be the first task for the Indian cricket team which will start from July 26.
