Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has a special place in his heart for cricket and he was full of praise for Team India stating that they reminded him of the might Australians of yesteryear. Nadella also added that he enjoyed watching Rohit Sharma play while calling Virat Kohli a "special" player.

The Australian team made their name in the cricketing world through their winning attitude both on and off the field. Being virtually unbeatable in the early part of the 2000s, the team from Down Under won three World Cups in a row between 1999 and 2007. Now, Nadella has claimed that the Indian cricket team is doing well and playing like the Kangaroos. The current Men in Blue lead the rankings in Test cricket and are just behind South African in the 50-over format.

"It's awesome to see India field a genuinely hostile pace attack. In fact, the whole team - their fielding, athleticism, professionalism - is something else. It is fantastic to see Indians play like Australians," Nadella told TOI.

Amidst questions about the very existence of the longest format of the game, the ICC recently announced the start of a Test Championship to restart the interest in Test cricket. The ICC now have another backer in the form of the 50-year-old who revealed that he loves five-day cricket over the frenzy of the T20 format.

"I do follow cricket passionately, though I'm more of a Test match fan. I'm not so much into IPL," he explained.

Under Virat Kohli captaincy, Team India have been playing some exceptional cricket in all formats of the game and he is leading the team brilliantly. When asked about the current players, Nadella was full of praise for Kohli, R Ashwin, and Rohit Sharma.

"I think Virat is very special, and I'm amazed at Ashwin's versatility as a bowler. I also love watching Rohit Sharma play. Some of his shots and the follow-through remind me of VVS Laxman. He seems to have so much time to play his strokes,” he stated.
