Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have topped the latest ICC T20I rankings for batsmen and bowlers that were released after the three-match series between India and New Zealand ended on Tuesday. After the series victory, India, too, have gained three points but remained at the fifth position.

Virat Kohli scored only 104 runs in the series, but that helped him gain 13 points, thus stretching his lead at the top over Aaron Finch, who is currently at the second spot, to 40 points. After hitting brisk half-centuries in the first match, Rohit Sharma moved three places up to 21st position while Shikhar Dhawan jumped 20 places up to reach 45th position in the rankings. Colin Munro, riding high on his second century of the year, moved up four spots to number 12.

The Indian bowlers, the main architect of Indiaā€™s recent dominance, have also moved up in the rankings to further establish Indiaā€™s dominance in the game. While Bumrah has stabilized his position at the top, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has also moved two places up to reach the 26th position while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal secured a 22-place promotion to reach the 30th position.Ā

While New Zealand formally conceded their top spot in the ICC T20I rankings after the series loss, Pakistan, being the direct beneficiary, further strengthened his position as the World No.1. The Kiwis are on par with the WindiesĀ but remain slightly ahead on decimal points to occupy theĀ second position.
