A PCB official revealed that it will adopt a strong stance for hosting the Emerging Cup at the ACC meeting in Kuala Lumpur this week. PCB will try to convince member boards to move the Asia Cup out of India to a third country like Malaysia or even Sri Lanka so that they can participate in it.

The Indian cricket board and Pakistan cricket board have had a lot of issues in the past. India and Pakistan haven’t played a proper bilateral series since 2007 and the PCB has tried all means to arrange a series, but the Indian government has not given the permission to the Indian team to play Pakistan.

India have been trying to move the Emerging Cup out of Pakistan on security grounds and PCB is not happy with that. Pakistan had got hosting rights for the Asian Emerging Nations Cup when an ACC meeting was held in Lahore last October but delegates from India and Bangladesh didn't come for the meeting. It was then both boards revealed that they will not participate in the tournament if the tournament is held in Pakistan.

In a new twist, PCB have made it clear that it will not participate in the Asia Cup (which is scheduled to be held in India in September later this year) if India don’t travel to Pakistan for the Emerging Nations Cup.

“The PCB will try to convince the member boards to move the Asia Cup out of India to a third country like Malaysia or even Sri Lanka so that Pakistan can participate in it,” a PCB official was quoted saying by TOI.

PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi, and chief operating officer, Subhan Ahmad will be flying out today to Kuala Lumpur where the former will chair the meeting as ACC President.
