Yuvraj Singh, who has been surrounded by doubts about his cricketing abilities lately, revealed that he will take a call on his career after the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. He played his last International match for the country in June 2017 and has had a quite ordinary IPL season so far.

Yuvraj, who has played over 400 matches, in all formats, for the country, has accumulated over 10000 runs. He will forever be remembered by Indian fans for his role in the 2007 World T20 and the 2011 World Cup where he was given the Man of the Series award on both occasions. However, lately he hasn’t been able to perform that as per his lofty standards and now the Southpaw has revealed that he will take a call on his career after 2019 and will play until then.

"I am going to look to play till 2019, whatever cricket I get to play. I will take a call when that year is over," Yuvraj said to TOI.

The 36 year old all-rounder stated that he made his debut in 2000 and has played almost 17-18 years for the country. He insisted that everyone who plays cricket for as long as he has, eventually needs to make a decision on their career one day and he will come after 2019.

"Everybody has to take a decision after a while. I have been playing international cricket since 2000, it has been almost 17-18 years on and off. So, I will definitely take a call after 2019," he said.

KXIP has never won an IPL and have only ever made it to the final once, back n 2014 where they lost to KKR. Yuvraj stated that the immediate goal of his franchise KXIP, would be to qualify for the semi-finals and then take it from there on. He was quick to point out that they have got a good overall squad and was hopeful of winning the tournament this year.

"We are looking ahead to first qualify in the last four and I think we have got a great team this year. We have got a very powerful batting attack, smart bowling attack, and hopefully we look to qualify and then see if we can win the finals," he said.

He made heaps of praises for his teammate Chris Gayle, who is on fire at the moment. Yuvraj seemed happy for the Caribbean man, who has been a good friend to him.

"Oh, I am loving it. Chris has always been a friend off the field. He has been a great batsman, probably one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world and performing like a boss on the field. I am really happy for him and the way he is batting," he said.

Yuvraj concluded his interview by saying that Chennai and KKR would be the teams that give them serious contention in the race of the title.

"T20 cricket is unpredictable. Anybody can win on any day. But Chennai has always been a very consistent team and KKR has been playing really well. I think these are two really good teams in the IPL," he concluded.
