Kolkata Knight Riders’ youngster Shivam Mavi and Delhi Daredevils pacer Avesh Khan were reprimanded after "sending off" batsmen with expletives in two separate incidents in last night’s encounter. The duo has only been warned and wouldn't be fined or banned for their actions on the pitch.

Kolkata Knight Riders’ heavy 55-run defeat against Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Friday had tempers flaring after the hosts went on a blazing total in the first innings. Under new leadership in the form Shreyas Iyer, the Daredevils plundered KKR’s bowlers to set a target of 220 runs. KKR got off to a bad start and things only spiralled downwards from there as they lost the match by 55 runs. Another development from last night’s game was the subsequent ‘warnings’ issued to KKR pacer Shivam Mavi and DD bowler Avesh Khan for their ‘expletive celebrations’ after dismissing batsmen on separate occasions, during the game.

"Both Mr. Mavi and Mr. Khan admitted to the Level one offence under 2.1.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials and accepted the sanctions," an IPL media release stated.

Mavi, who began the night with a promising start, was hammered for 58 runs that included the last over of the game in which he gave away 29 runs - the most expensive IPL over this season. But he did manage to dismiss former KKR player Colin Munro with a stunning delivery after which he proceeded to aim a few words at the batsman for which he was reprimanded. Khan, on the other hand, directed a mouthful of abuse towards West Indian player Andre Russell after claiming his wicket because of which he too was issued a reprimand by ICC authorities.

As per ICC rules and regulations, for Level One breaches of the IPL Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is ultimate. Despite being reprimanded, no fines or bans will be levied for a Level one offence on the bowling pair but it is understood that the IPL will look to keep a close eye on them during the remainder of the tournament.
