How many times have we seen the non-striker going straight for a DRS review without even having the knowledge whether his partner is actually out or not. Something similar happened in Bangladesh's second Test against Windies when Kemar Roach tried to save Shermon Lewis but ended up embarrassing him.

After Mehidy Hasan’s heroics with the ball in both the innings, Bangladesh was right on top of the second Test against the Windies in Dhaka. The visitors followed-on after getting all-out for only 111 runs in the first innings in reply to Bangladesh’s huge first innings score of 508 in 154 overs. The offie looked dangerous in the second innings and the Caribbean team was on the verge of an innings defeat.

Roach and Lewis, however, tried to salvage some pride for the side by adding 42 runs for the last wicket. The number 11, Lewis, was on strike against Taijul Islam in the 60th over of the innings. The left-arm spinner pitched the ball on the middle stump and it straightened a bit to hit the pad of Lewis who tried to flick the ball. After a confident appeal by Islam, Aleem Dar raised his finger meaning that Bangladesh had won the match as Lewis started walking back to the pavilion seemingly confident of him fairly dismissed.

And here came the interesting part as Roach, who was at the non-striker’s end, decided to have a last-ditch attempt and save his partner by going for a blind review. He called back Lewis who had already left for the pavilion. They went upstairs but the replays showed that the ball would have hit middle and leg. Dar raised his finger again and finally both the Caribbean batsmen went off the field as Bangladesh sealed the game by an innings and 184 runs and hence won the series 2-0 at home.
