Among all outdoor sports, cricket is least prone to contact injuries, but collisions still happen while taking a catch. Today, Nathan Lyon though put in a football style sliding tackle on Marcus Harris at deep point to save a boundary, and he was successful in saving a couple of runs as well.

A year that saw Australia gaining dual reputations of being bullish and nice - albeit under two different captains - they badly needed a win to gain the old reputation back and win the trust of the fans. While the loss in the first Test didn’t help the cause, the early Christmas gift arrived today when Tim Paine's team won the Perth Test to level the series.

It was a test of character for the young Aussie team and they had to battle a lot of odds to thwart India from the pole position. When Nathan Lyon did that in the first innings with a five-wicket haul on a track that was labelled as pacer’s paradise, there was hardly any doubt regarding the result. But players gave their all when the win was just a formality.

The fourth ball of the 51st over that Mitchell Starc bowled to Rishabh Pant was slashed over the man at point, and before any fielder could get to the ball, Pant and Umesh Yadav ran a couple. Nathan Lyon and Marcus Harris were chasing the ball to stop it before it could reach the boundary and in the process, Lyon put in a sliding tackle over Harris to save the ball. Although it seemed like a collision for a while, the former signalled Lyon that he was fine.
