Mithali Raj dropped two places to land at the third position in the latest ICC Women’s rankings in ODIs due to her average performance in the series win against South Africa in the recently concluded ODI series. Harmanpreet Kaur (7) was another Indian who slipped 2 places in the latest rankings.

Mithali Raj claimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC rankings last year in October but her average performance in the ODI series against the South African team saw her drop even further. It was further compounded by Ellyse Perry's 110 runs in the series against England.

Mithali Raj managed to score just 69 runs in the 2-1 ODI series win against South Africa which proved to be insufficient to cement her place as the No. 1 batswoman in the world. Perry who was crowned with the Belinda Clark award for Australia’s women’s cricketer of the year earlier this week reached the summit of the rankings for the first time in her career. She is also ranked 1 in the all-rounders' list in the latest release of ICC rankings.

Perry’s teammate, Meg Lanning also jumped a spot to claim the second spot in the rankings. Another Indian batswoman, Harmanpreet lost ground in the latest rankings as her 96 in the ODI series against SA was not sufficient for her to retain the 5th rank on the list as dropped down to the 7th position in the rankings. Smriti Mandhana, on the other hand, moved 14 places to 21st position in the rankings on the back of her solid show in the ODI series.

Mithali Raj got back her form as she guided India to victory in the first 2 T20s with two brilliant knocks of  54* and 76*. India now lead the 5 match T20 series 2-0 with the third match scheduled to played today
