Pakistan and unpredictability have been partners since ages and on this day in 2015, they proved why that was the case. Against West Indies during the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015, Pakistan cricket team secured an unwanted record to their name by losing 4 wickets with their score at just one run.

Pakistan considered as one of the most unpredictable teams in world cricket. While they might turn up and upset any team on their day, the very next game they might end up losing to an associate nation. And the date of February 21, 2015 will always be remembered for Pakistan’s one such moment of shambolic performance and Windies’ brilliant effort.

The 10th match of the 2015 WC was played between Pakistan and Windies in Christchurch and after losing their first game against India by 76 runs, Pakistan hoped to win their second Pool B game. Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and invited Windies to bat first who scored 310 runs while losing six wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

Pakistan would never want to think about the start that they got while chasing down the target. On the second delivery of the innings, Jerome Taylor sent Nasir Jamshed back to the pavilion and before ending his spell he got another scalp of Pakistan in the form of Younis Khan. The scoreboard read one for three when Haris Sohail also failed to open his account and got out to Taylor’s delivery in the third over. After sending three batsmen back on duck, Skipper Jason Holder created more difficulties for the opponents as he got the wicket of Ahmed Shehzad who managed to score one run.

Later, Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Akmal’s half-century gave some relief to the side but it proved insufficient to achieve the target. Andre Russell claimed three wickets which resulted in a 150-run loss to Pakistan. While they managed to salvage some pride by scoring 160 runs in total, the start would always be considered as one of their worst batting performances of all-time.
