Indian Premier League franchise King’s XI Punjab has confirmed that the team will continue with Mohali as their main home venue and Indore will be their second home ground. Mohali will host four of the seven home games for the franchise and the other three home games will take place in Indore.

In 2017, Kings XI Punjab, who play their IPL home matches at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali had informed the Indian cricket board (BCCI) about their attempt to move out of Mohali. They gave a reason for the move that they were having difficult times with PCA and the local authorities and they were thinking to pick Pune and Dharamsala as their official home ground. KXIP also complained that poor turnout of fans to the stadium had resulted in low revenue. But Kings XI, who retained only bowling all-rounder Axar Patel from their previous squad for the upcoming season, have resolved the venue issue and picked Mohali as their home ground.

“We wanted to shift our base from Mohali but the main issue regarding the security has been resolved between the government and the Punjab Cricket Association. We are happy to be play in Mohali as there is different energy there,” Satish Menon, the franchise’s chief executive officer told The Indian Express.

“We will be playing four games in Mohali and the remaining three in Indore. It has been a good venue for us, and the response has been great as we have seen packed houses last year.”
