Defending champions India are scheduled to play against their arch-rivals Pakistan followed by the yet to be confirmed qualifier in a span of two days in the upcoming Asia Cup. While Group A has India, Pakistan and the qualifier, Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

International Cricket Council (ICC) released the scheduleĀ of the Asia Cup 2018 on Tuesday with the matches being held in the UAEĀ after aĀ long dragged debate between India and Pakistan forced the council to move it to a neutral venue. Scheduled to beĀ played fromĀ September 15 to September 28, the tournament opener will seeĀ BangladeshĀ taking on Sri Lanka in Dubai.

The Indian team, on the other hand, have been given very little rest in terms of fixtures before the much-awaited face-off against Pakistan in the tournament, whom they play in a span of two days following their qualifiers clash. Due to their superior rankings, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh have all directly qualified for the tournament while the last spot remained up for grabs amongst UAE, Singapore, Oman, Nepal, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

According to the schedule, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 4 and then fight for the spot in the final to be held in Dubai.
