Wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has expressed his admiration towards skipper Virat Kohli as the former claimed that Kohli has played an influential role in the development of his game. Chahal has also spoken about Aussie legend Shane Warne, who has always been a role model for him over the years.

Yuzvendra Chahal is a name that has nowĀ been very familar with the Indian cricket fans across the globe, especially afterĀ his performance in the ODI series against South Africa earlier this year. The wrist-spinning duo snapped up a total of 33 wickets amongst themselves to lead India to a historic series win against the home team for the first time, under the leadership of the highly-influential Virat Kohli.

Chahal, who is was also part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad this year, revealed a lot about his relationship with theĀ skipper on Gaurav Kapur's chat show, 'Breakfast with Champions'.

"Virat bhaiya (big brother) inspires me a lot. Both on and off the field, he helps me a lot. He told me that my life has changed and I need to stay fit. Now I know that fitness is important. Even I am feeling better after working out", Chahal said.

Chahal made his debut for the Indian team back in 2016 and has been in and out of the squad ever sinceĀ before he cemented his place in the team under Kohli. Chahal had 43 ODI wickets in 23 matches and had 35 T20I scalps to his name in 21 matches.

The lad from Haryana also spoke highly of Australian legend, Shane Warne, who has been a long time role-model for him.Ā

"Shane Warne was my cricketing hero while growing up. First, my action, during under 14 was similar. In this action, in Haryana under 19, I changed my action in the middle of the match. I ran a little longer and knew there will be less spin and that paid dividends. That turned out to be my best decision. I never overthink in pressure situations because now I am mentally strong", Chahal added.
