The Indian cricket team held on to the second spot in the recent update of the ODI rankings with England and South Africa above and below them respectively. However, Australia have now hit 34-year rankings low as they dropped to sixth in the rankings table dropping behind Pakistan.

Team India continueĀ to trail top-ranked England by a small margin of just two points in the latest update to the ODI rankings list. Englandā€™s impressive display in the ongoing series against Australia has helped them retain the top spot in theĀ list ahead of India. However, Kohli will look to debunk the English and go on top when the Indian squad travels to England for a full-fledged tour next month.

But that is not the headline maker of the rankings list, the mighty Australians have hit a 34-year old low as they were ranked sixth on the list with 102 points from 34 matches. Since January 2017, the Aussies have lost 13 ODIs out of 15. In the last few months, they have lost 7 ODIs out of 8 against England. The only other victory came in the ODI series against India last year after the series had been secured. They have already lost the opening two fixtures of the ongoing five-match series against England and only a miraculous come-from-behind series win, or rain, can save them now.
