India vs England | Chris Woakes likely to miss India T20s

Chris Woakes, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the ODI series against Australia, is less likely to play against India in the 20-overs format of the game. Although Ben Stokes has also been ruled out of the Australia series, he may take part in the first leg of the series against India.
While Stokes missed the first two matches of the Australia series with a hamstring tear sustained during the Pakistan Test series, Woakes injured his right quad during that game and both were subsequently ruled out of the start of England's limited-overs summer. However, the duo was expected to be fit for the series against India, but a recent revelation suggests that the latter may not take part in the 20-over series.
Cricbuzz reported ECB saying that Woakes' injury is more serious and although no time frame was given on his return to action, doctors stated that he will be out until at least the ODI series against India which starts at Trent Bridge on July 12. The pacer is struggling to come out of the quad issue, which was caused due to a flare-up of a chronic right knee problem. Currently, the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler had an injection for the knee issue and will now go through a rehabilitation and conditioning programme to address both injuries.
On the other hand, Stokes tore his left hamstring in training before the Leeds Test against Pakistan, but he is being able to run at 90 per-cent capacity and started batting in the nets as well. This week, he will also start his bowling programme and will continue his rehabilitation with England's squad during the upcoming fourth and fifth ODIs at the Riverside Ground and Old Trafford so as to be available to play in the three T20Is against India starting next month.
