Anil Kumble has insisted that Indian team have enough experience in both bowling and batting departments to outwit England in the upcoming series. Kumble revealed that his company along with Microsoft would be unveiling a new technology during the Tamil Nadu Premier League to analyze batting.

In the recent past, India has been a force to reckon with in all three formats of the game. The results in the recent tour of South Africa have been a testament to that. However, when it comes to England, the team hasn't had much success with the red ball for which the team received a fair amount of criticism. With just more than a week left for the much-awaited India’s tour of England, experts have been throwing in their views on the probable outcome of the series. Former Indian captain and coach, Anil Kumble too has given his analysis of the series and reckons that India has a strong batting and bowling lineup to outwit the opposition.

"We have a great side and an all-round side. In bowling we have the experience and bowlers who can take 20 wickets consistently. If you look at the batting line-up, it has a lot of experience as well," he said as quoted by TOI at an event on Thursday.

Except the historic Test win at Lord's, India disappointed in their last tour to England losing the Test series 3-1. Hence, this tour would be a great chance for the Virat Kohli-led side to prove their critics wrong. Kumble pointed out that the Indian squad has the best spinners in the world and added that playing in the second half of the summer would help the Indians. He asserted that India has a great chance to win the series in England.

"On average, all the players have played close to 50 Tests. That adds a lot of value and it's not the first time that they are touring England. They have all been there before and they are familiar with the conditions," Kumble said.

"We have the best spinners in the world and even in terms of conditions the fact that we are playing in the second-half will help our cause. We have a great opportunity to win the series. We shouldn't have a problem operating with Duke ball," he added.

Historically, the wickets in England have been less assistive to spinners and that's where the leg-spinners come into play. However, touring in the second half of summer, the wickets would not be in best of the conditions. A leg-spinner himself, Kumble insisted that wrist spinners would certainly play an important part in England this time, given the wear and tear in wickets by the time Test series starts.

"Wrist spinners will certainly be a handful and they will certainly play an important part in England since this time we are touring in the second half. The wicket will have its wear and tear and the wrist spinners will come into the game much earlier than the first half of the summer," he added.

Kumble, who was at the event in connection with the unveiling of a new technology in the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), said such leagues help young players.

"Washington Sundar's consistent performances in the TNPL fast-tracked him into the IPL and into the Indian team. Similarly, with T Natarajan last year when he came out of the blue and nobody knew who he was," he said.

"He played in the TNPL and was successful and we have seen that even in the Karnataka Premier League where a couple of players who have come in and then straightaway got picked by the IPL franchises. They have performed there and then people noticed," he added.

Kumble revealed that his company along with Microsoft would be unveiling a new technology for the batsmen during the TNPL, which would require batsmen to put a smart sticker on their bat to make bat a ‘smart bat’.

"This is technology that we are bringing into TNPL. Glad that TNPL has given us a platform. So this is a smart sticker and once you put this on the bat it becomes a smart bat. And we get data in real-time," he added.
