Mike Hussey, who is the batting coach of Chennai Super Kings, stated that MS Dhoni has been in unbelievable form and this has been the best form of Dhoni he has seen in the recent few years. Heaping praise on Dhoni, Hussey termed him as the fastest stumper against spinners in the world.
Having won 7 out of their 10 games and placed on the second spot on the points table, Chennai Super Kings have been on a rampage. One of the major factors of their form has been MS Dhoni, who has been good with the bat as well as behind the stumps.Ā
In the match against RCB, Dhoni did two quick stumpings which involved the wicket of AB de Villiers and Murugan Ashwin, both on the balls off Harbhajan Singh, which restricted RCBĀ to a total at 127. CSK chased the target easily with 2 overs to spare and won the match by 6 wickets. Dhoni was at his best again and scored unbeaten an 31 off 23 ballsĀ which includedĀ three sixes in the 18th over off Yuzvendra Chahal. Dhoni has now scored 360 runs in the 10 matches he has played so far which forced CSK batting coach Mike Hussey to state that it was Dhoni's best form over the tears.
"He's such an important player for the team. He's a fantastic keeper, has been in unbelievably good form with the bat, probably the best I've seen him play for quite a few years. My observations are he's (Dhoni) got to be the fastest in the world against the spinners in taking the bails off. He's unbelievably quick," said Mike Hussey after CSKās win against RCB," Hussey said after the match against RCB, reported PTI.Ā
In the match against RCB in Pune, the ball started turning from the onset and that resulted in players like veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja getting a lot of purchase. Following the performance, the teamĀ were bundled out for a low total of 126 runs. Hussey had words of praise for both the spinners.
"Harbhajan has been bowling nicely the last few games. And he's been doing a fantastic job for us through those middle overs. He (Jadeja) bowled beautifully. The skipper has been showing nice faith in him and that's been important, giving him the confidence. It's nice for him to get the rewards. He's been bowling well but the rewards have just not been coming his way. So, it's nice for him to get the reward (man of the match) today with an excellent performance," he added.
