Krunal Pandya seems excited after his name was announced to be a part of the India 'A' team that would travel to England in June and now aims for a spot in the senior team in the near future. Pandya has also added that his prime focus now remained in performing well for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

Team India are gearing up for one of their toughest challenges under the guidance of coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli as they get set to face the English cricket team in their upcoming tour of England. and Ireland in July. And ahead of that trip, the India ‘A’ team, led by DD skipper Shreyas Iyer, will travel to England in June where they will play against England Lions at Worcester.

All-rounder Krunal Pandya, who was included in the India ‘A’ squad, has claimed that he was excited at the opportunity given to him but he still has an underlying dream to one day step out on the pitch for the Indian national team.

“It feels really good. Last year after the IPL, I got picked for the India A's tour of South Africa. It was a good tour for me. The ultimate dream is to represent India and that is still there and it is just one step closer to the senior team. I will try to give my best when I go there (to England) but right now this is an important stage of the tournament (in IPL). I want to do well for MI first and then I will see how it goes,” Pandya told reporters at a press conference.

The Left-handed batsman has scored 189 runs in 11 matches and bagged 11 wickets with his orthodox left-arm spin bowling. Mumbai Indians are on a good run and face a do-or-die encounter against Ajinkya Rahane-led Rajasthan Royals in today’s game but Krunal maintained that he is taking things one game at a time.

“We will be going match by match and that's how we have played from the first game itself. Obviously, in the initial few games, the results didn't come our way but it is not that we were playing badly. We were playing good cricket but couldn't win the crucial moments in the first few matches.

“And in the latter half, the same thing happened. We were in the same situation and we grabbed those opportunities and we started winning games. We are not thinking about where we are right now in the points table. We are just taking one game at a time and we will see how it goes,” Krunal added.
