If there is one player who is tailor-made for the newly introduced T-10 League, where every team has 10 overs to get the job done, it is Andre Russell. And the Caribbean star showed a glimpse of his batting prowess as he bludgeoned the ball out of the Sharjah stadium for a humongous six.

Though the Men in Blue wonā€™t admit,Ā but they were delighted to see T20 specialist Andre Russell out of the side that toured India last month, prior to their departure for Australia. The Jamaican has been aĀ rage in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he has set the stage on fire for Kolkata Knight Riders smacking 46 sixes in his last two seasons and is easily the most feared batsman on the circuit. The name "Dre-Russ" at the back of his shirt even sounds like a futuristic bot specially manufactured to destroy bowlers.

These days, the 30-year-old is seen donning the Northern Warriors jersey in the Dubai T10-League where his impact hasnā€™t been any different. The Warriors are topping the Group B table with four points off three games with their latest win coming against Sindhis, against whom the incident happened. It was the fourth over of the second innings with the Warriors chasing a target of 92 in 10 overs.

After Rovman Powell was dismissed by Pravin Tambe, in came Russell and started off with a single. Warriors were 28/2 and the run needed quick acceleration and after seeing off Isuru Udanaā€™s first ball, Russell turned full beast mode. The Sri Lankan had bowled in Russellā€™s zone and that too, a bit slower delivery. Russell waited for it deep in his crease and slogged it straight at the long on as the ball sailed on to the terrace and out of the stadium.
