The communication issue occurred between players and team selectors prior to the Windies series will be the top agenda in the meeting scheduled with CoA along with chief coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will also be a part of the deliberation.

Along with the team selectors, Shashtri and Kohli, the BCCI officials have scheduled a meeting in Hyderabad, which would keenly address a few core issues probing the management at the moment such as the requirement of extra support staff, and the code of conduct for centrally-contracted players.

The latest controversy to hit the Indian cricket has been the allegations of the "lack of communication" between the team management, selectors, and the players. Recently, Karun Nair and Murali Vijay went on record to state that there was a “lack of communication” from selectors or team management after they were excluded from the Windies Test squad. Following their comments, there were even reports confirming it that the board did not find it necessary to communicate the players earlier.

While MSK Prasad stated that his colleague Devang Gandhi had a word with the concerned players, it was followed by Indian captain Virat Kohli refraining from commenting on the issue. However, Nair and Vijay’s public statement on the selection committee has been strictly considered a negative picture of the ‘code of conduct’ for the centrally-contracted players.

"Obviously, the matter will be raised at the meeting. The BCCI has maintained that Vijay is not giving the true picture. Gandhi explained the position of selectors to Vijay in presence of team manager Sunil Subramanium," said BCCI official reported PTI.

While Kohli also requested the board to allow the wives of players and support staff for the full duration of the overseas tour, the most important issue considered would be the preparation for the tour of Australia starting with a three-match T20 series from November 21.

Australian Cricket Board had responded positively to the request and are in the process of arranging an extra tour game. Meanwhile, the Test savvy cricketers like Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara are expected to fly to New Zealand with India A team in order to prepare for the test series against Australia.
