After BCCI shifted the fourth ODI between India and Windies from the Wankhede Stadium to the nearby Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai Cricket Association has decided not to host the women’s team’s preparatory camp. MCA stated that they were still not communicated anything and awaiting an official response.

The hosting rights for the India-Windies match had originally been given to the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) Wankhede Stadium, but the Committee of Administrators moved the game to Brabourne Stadium due to administrative issues at the MCA. The MCA was being governed by a High Court-appointed Committee of Administrators, but their term had ended on September 15, which left MCA without any "legally authorised" working group to oversee its functioning. So, Vinod Rai stated that logistically, it was easy to move the match to Brabourne, which is some 500 metres away from Wankhede. However, the lack of proper communication has left the MCA miffed with the decision and now, they have stated that the Wankhede Stadium can’t host the women’s preparatory camp for the World Cup.

The Indian women’s team was supposed to undergo a yo-yo test on Tuesday, which will be followed by a one-week-long camp before departing for the Women’s World Cup in the Windies. But, now they have decided not to host it, Indian Express reported. Even, MCA chief executive officer CS Naik made the email communication that he had with the Committee of Administrators (CoA) public by putting it on their website.

“This is with reference to our trailing email regarding hosting of the 4th One-Day International match between India and West Indies on 29th October, 2018 at Wankhede Stadium. We have not received any communication from your end in this regard. We are surprised to learn from media reports that the said match has been shifted to Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. We would request you to kindly let us know the reasons for shifting of the said match,” Naik wrote in the mail.

On the other hand, an MCA official has also added that some eligible members and two clubs affiliated to it are set to move the Bombay High Court with a writ petition against the BCCI's decision to shift the match.
