Kolkata Knight Ridersā€™ Kuldeep Yadav claims that he knows exactly what he needs to do in order to stop the in-form Andre Russell from scoring big runs at the upcoming World Cup. The wrist spinner added that he is happy with his performance so far in the ongoing season of the IPL.

Kolkata Knight Riders have enjoyed a successful season thus far in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. The 2012 and 2014 IPL champions currently find themselves in theĀ second position on the IPL rankings table after suffering a disappointing loss in their outing against MS Dhoniā€™ Chennai Super Kings.

A large part of Kolkataā€™s success is due to the terrific form of Windies all-rounder Andre Russell. Nicknamed ā€˜Dre Russā€™, the towering batsman has notched up a total of 257 runs from six matches at a strike rate of 212.39. However, KKR teammate and India wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav claims that he knows exactly what needs to be done to stop Russell from going all out.

"He has some problems facing a turning ball. If the ball is turning, then he has a weakness. It's not just this, I've different plans to unleash against him in the World Cup. I know how to stop him and I'm very clear in my mind.

"He does not take chance against spinners. He's a terror for pacers. And I've never bowled him at the nets. You are always under pressure when you're hit for two sixes in a row. It's important how you comeback. All it takes is one ball to get the batsman out. You can assess a player's character by that," Yadav told PTI in a recent interview.

Yadav, who has picked up six wickets in the 12th edition of the IPL thus far, added that he is happy with his performances for the Kolkata-based franchise this season. The 24-year old further claimed that batsmen donā€™t aim to hit big shots when he has the ball.

"If I'm not getting wickets it does not mean I'm not bowling well. Now I play as a matured cricketer and think more about the team. Even as I'm not taking wickets, my economy rate is tight.

"I feel in this IPL batsmen are not attacking me so much. The batsmen are no more hitting big shots against me. I'm conceding three-four boundaries in every match which means batsmen are trying to play safe barring one match against Delhi. It's such a format, you may have a bad day where you're hit for runs. I'm not a magician who will do well in every match. You cannot say I will take so many wickets," Yadav added.
