Skipper Hanuma Vihari and wicket-keeper Wirddhiman Saha toiled hard for India 'A' on a bowler-dominated day, as the duo helped the team post a total of 201. Meanwhile, Chemar Holder and Akim Fraser starred for the hosts with the ball, as the pair claimed three wickets each in the first innings.

Wriddhiman Saha continued to stake his claim for a selection in the first Test against the Windies, as he scored his second fifty in three innings against West Indies 'A'. The 34-year-old stitched an invaluable 86-run partnership along with skipper Hanuma Vihari for the fifth wicket, as they helped India 'A' scrape to a par score of 201 in the first innings.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, the Windies struck early, getting rid of Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran for a duck. The Indians were then rocked back by a triple strike from off-spinner Akim Fraser (3/53), as he sent the trio of Mayank Agarwal (33), Priyank Panchal (11) and Shubman Gill (0) back to the hut in quick succession. Saha (62) and Vihari (55) then steadied the ship for the visitors, before Chemar Holder (3/47), the star performer from the second match, skittled out the Indian team for a modest total of 201.

In reply, the hosts lost opener Montcin Hodge for just 15, who was knocked down by Karnataka's Krishnappa Gowtham, who carried on his form from the previous match, where he took a match-winning five-wicket haul. But the Windies ensured that they got through to stumps without any further damage, as they ended the day on 23/1, still trialing by 178 runs.
