Reports | CoA decides against publishing ethics officer orders on website after Ganguly’s comments
The CoA has decided to stop publishing Ethics Officer DK Jain’s orders on the BCCI website after Sourav Ganguly lashed out at the board for issuing Rahul Dravid a conflict of interest notice. It is also learned that only the reports and other disclosures will be made public hereafter.
A day after Sourav Ganguly criticized the BCCI for issuing Dravid the notice, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators has decided to only publish the report of the Ethics Officer to the AGM of the BCCI and other related disclosures on the website.
“It was noted that there is no specific requirement in the BCCI constitution for the orders of the Ethics Officer to be published and that only the report of the Ethics Officer to the AGM of the BCCI and disclosures made pursuant to any such orders are to be published on the BCCI website,” mention the protocols of the meeting, reported TOI.
On Tuesday, Jain had sent a notice to Dravid after receiving a complaint from MPCA life member Sanjeev Gupta. Gupta alleged that Dravid was in violation of the BCCI constitution, as he was holding multiple positions at the same time – the NCA Director and vice-president for India Cements group.
Ganguly, and a couple of his former teammates – Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman – had also been served conflict-of-interest notices by Jain during the World Cup. It seems yesterday, the former captain had had enough.
