Sri Lanka's security delegation, which visited Lahore and Karachi, gave a 'very positive feedback' about the security conditions ahead of the team's proposed visit to the nation for two-match Test series. If this goes ahead, this will be Pakistan's first Test match at home since 2009 Lahore attack.

Pakistan will start their Test Championship campaign with a two-match series against Sri Lanka and that was supposed toĀ be played at a neutral venue. However, during the World Cup, the PCB made SLC an offer to play in Pakistan. Keeping that in mind, SLC sent a security delegation headed by Mohan de Silva to assess security arrangements and ESPN Cricinfo reported that the delegation gave a "very positive feedback".

"The feedback we got from the security team was very positive. We'll be talking to the PCB about some alternatives before we arrive at a decision. The government will be consulted as well," SLC CEO Ashley de Silva said.

Even though Sri Lanka Cricket agrees for the tour, the biggest concernĀ will be obtaining the players' consent to tour Pakistan although a Sri Lanka team played one T20I in Lahore in October 2017. However, a number of prominentĀ names pulled out of the series which includes Sri Lanka's then T20I captain Upul Tharanga, Lasith Malinga, Niroshan Dickwella, Suranga Lakmal, and Akila Dananjaya.

The team was captained by Thisara Perera, and the then SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala and sports minister Dayasiri Jayasekara accompanied the side to Lahore. Sri Lanka also have an obligation to follow as the PCB was the first board to send a team to Sri Lanka following the April 21 bombings in Sri Lanka this year, a Pakistan Under-19 team touring the island a month after the attacks.
