While good players come and go, a showman comes once in a generation, and in Jofra Archer, England have a persona who can not only prophecize but also walk the talk. After hitting Steve Smith out of the third Test, Archer impeccably mimicked Smith’s batting to show what Australia would be missing.

The Barbadian-born fast bowler had ended up being a barbarian for Australia’s top scorer at the Lord’s when his fiery spell saw Smith unable to duck the 90mph deliveries and eventually being taken off the field. Though Smith showed heart to come back to the field later in the same Test, his concussion eventually took him out of the third one in Headingley.

Australia would be in a disadvantageous position now with their best batsman out and if there was any doubt to it, a video emerged of Archer showing the visitors what they would be missing in Leeds. The 24-year-old sensation was seen imitating Smith’s unconventional gait while batting and even aped Smith's loosely hanging back-lift.

Archer was also seen hitting a straight drive like that of Smith and even showed leaving the ball at the last moment like Smith does. Like the showman he is required to be for England down the batting order, Archer was also seen running down the track to send the ball out of the nets. He was, however, eventually seen missing a loose ball, which went on to hit the stumps.

After having a significant contribution to help England lift the World Cup, Archer made James Anderson’s place his own at the Mecca of cricket. And despite the bad blood brewing between Australia and England now, Smith would actually be confused about whether he should hate Archer’s guts or watch in awe of the talent that he is.
