Well, it looks like not just Virat Kohli, but the whole Indian team is, in fact, in a mood to troll the Windies. After Kieron Pollard tried to obstruct Shivam Dube from taking a second run, the Indian gave the Windies skipper the perfect reply, smacking him for three consecutive sixes.

Virat Kohli is not quite known for his ‘funky captaincy’, but today, he pulled a rabbit out of his hat and surprised the world by promoting Shivam Dube of all to No.3 after KL Rahul’s dismissal. After struggling initially, scoring just 12 runs off his first 14 balls, Dube got going in the 8th over off the bowling of Jason Holder, smacking a four and a six.

And when skipper Kieron Pollard came on to bowl his 2nd over, things got really spicy. On the 2nd ball of the 9th over, As Pollard delivered a half-tracker, Dube tried to hoick it towards mid-wicket, but all he could do was just shank it, but thanks to the lack of timing on the ball, there was enough time for the batsmen to take two runs. And as Dube was completing the first run, Pollard, after his delivery stride, intentionally tried to block the Indian, clearly leaving him livid. Dube did eventually get back for the second run, but little did Pollard know that the real fun was yet to begin.

As Pollard banged the next delivery in short, Dube got great connection on it, smacking it over the mid-wicket boundary for a maximum. The six clearly rattled Pollard, who, after the meaty hit, followed it up with two wides. But just when Pollard thought things couldn’t get worse for him, it did, as the all-rounder dispatched the two deliveries that followed the two wides for maximums as well.

The first one was a slower one from Pollard which Dube emphatically clubbed over backward square leg and the second one a full-toss wide outside off which he creamed one over the extra-cover boundary.  By the end of the over, Dube ensured that Pollard was a broken man, so much so that the Windies skipper even missed a sitter of a catch off the bowling of Hayden Walsh. Dube scripted the perfect revenge story and Pollard learnt his lesson: never mess with Shivam Dube!

Here is how Twitter reacted to the incident:
