Head coach Justin Langer is elated by the consistency Australia Test side has shown lately as he recalled a philosophy from the glorious days of Australia cricket. Langer hinted that the hosts will be going into the first Test against NZ unchanged after dominant performance against Pakistan.

Australia seemed to have finally gained the consistency they were longing for in Test cricket as they not only managed to retain the Urn earlier this year but also whitewashed Pakistan. But having handed Pakistan two back to back series defeats, the Kangaroos face a stiffer challenge as they square off with a consistent New Zealand.

While the Australia side looking in really good touch head coach Justin Langer shared that “he would be a brave man” to change the playing XI. Langer informed that there is little chance of a change in the team which faced Pakistan in the two-match Test series.

"I'd be a brave man to change the XI," Langer told cricket.com.au.

"The boys are playing well. We've still got a couple of training sessions, we haven't had a look at the wicket yet but I'd say at this stage more than likely we'll have the same XI."

Langer is delighted having finally found the consistency he has been longing for in the longest format of the game. An unchanged XI would also mean it is the first time since March 2018 that Australia have fielded the same side for three consecutive Tests. The head coach also shared a philosophy of his playing days which depicts how strong and consistent the Kangaroos used to be in their prime days.

"I've said for 18 months, there used to be a philosophy in Australian cricket, which worked so well for us - it's harder to get out of the Australian cricket team than it is to get in it. That usually happens when guys are playing well and the team is playing well. We've won the last couple of Test matches," concluded Langer.
