Twitter reacts to ‘troller’ Virat Kohli enjoying his six against Kesrick Williams after winning their 3.0 battle

The much-anticipated Kohli vs Williams 3.0 was in display at Wankhede on the aftermath of the Windies bowler getting the better of Kohli in the 2nd T20I. Kohli, after defending Williams earlier in the innings, charged down the track and flicked one into third tier, after which he trolled Williams.

The battle was not just between two teams, it was also between two players - Kesrick Williams and Virat Kohli - who rapidly became the plot of the series. After Williams was thrashed by Kohli in the first T20I, he came back brilliantly in the 2nd T20I in Thiruvananthapuram with a well-disguised slower bouncer catching the Indian skipper by surprise as he stroked it straight to the fielder.

In Mumbai, the much-awaited contest was put on hold as Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul put up a show for the crowd at Wankhede. After Sharma and Rishab Pant’s dismissal off successive overs, it was time for Kohli and Williams to take on each other in the much-awaited battle.

It was in the 16th over when the Windies bowler was brought into the attack and Kohli, much to everyone’s surprise, chose to defend Williams’ deliveries. Further, Kohli shook his head in a mocking manner ahead of the carnage that was soon witnessed by the crowd. On the 18th over, with India just having scored 11 runs in the previous over, Williams bowled his final over and on strike was Virat Kohli.

The Indian skipper immediately got to the other end allowing Rahul to continue his carnage as Rahul scored a huge six over long-off. And then came the last time Kohli and Williams met in the T20 series, with three balls remaining in the over. Williams ran in pensively after just conceding a six earlier in the over as Kohli took the scoring mantle. Nonchalantly, he struck Williams out of the ground into the third tier with just a whip. The whip was as crisp as it could ever be, further, warranting a celebration from the Indian skipper.

Mockingly or not, Kohli shook his head and let out a “WOW” expression, showing the whole world how much he enjoyed the shot - and subsequently his victory over Williams -  and uttered a few words looking straight towards the dejected Williams. And finally, the battle between the two ended with Kohli posting a 2-1 win over the Windies pacer, at least by the score that was recorded on the ‘notebook’.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the incident:
