West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, on Friday, has announced his return to T20I after hanging his boots just little over a year’s time. Although Bravo retired last year, his last international appearance for the Windies came way back in 2016, in a T20I against Pakistan in the UAE.

Outcasted West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo announced his return to international cricket, a year after announcing his retirement. The Chennai Super Kings superstar had an infamous fallout with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) after which he was being outcasted along with few other cricketers from the Board.

Bravo called it quits for his spoiled relationship with the Board. With the arrival of new appointees at the helm of the WICB, Bravo announced on Friday regarding his return.  He asserted that his decision was prompted by the change of guard in the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), where former team manager Ricky Skerritt took over as the new president replacing Dave Cameron earlier this year.

"Today I confirm the announcement of my decision to return to International Cricket to all my fans and well wishers all around the world," the 36-year-old said in a statement. It's no secret that this big announcement has come as a result of the changes made at the administration level. For a while now I have been contemplating my return to international cricket and my decision was solidified by these positive changes," Bravo expressed.

The 36-year-old aired his excitement regarding the current setup of the Windies team and his thirst of being part of the dressing room

"With the current leadership of coach and captain, I'm really excited about this comeback and about the chance to be part of something really special," Bravo revealed.

Bravo featured in 40, Tests, 164 ODIs and 66 T20Is for West Indies and has scored 6310 runs along with picking up 337 wickets across all formats under his belt. Bravo, who last featured in maroon in 2016 against Pakistan in a T20I in the UAE, is optimistic about rebuilding Windies T20I team and is confident of their chances in the WC T20I next year.

"With a powerful team such as ours we can definitely rebuild the WI T20I cricket team on and off the field and improve our rankings. I will remain fully committed to WI T20 team once selected. Thank you to all my fans and supporters for your continuous support as always," the all-rounder mentioned.
