One can never imagine an opposition skipper helping a batsman hit a four in a competitive cricket match. However, Faf du Plessis did exactly that during the ongoing ODI series against Pakistan as he made a comical dive to stop the ball from going to the boundary and gifted Pakistan a four.
After winning the toss and inviting Pakistan to bat first, South Africa was at the top of the game from the very beginning of the fifth ODI in Cape Town. Pakistan had lost the wickets of opener Imam-Ul-Haq and Babar Azam with only 64 runs on the board inside 13 overs. However, they had the other opener Zaman in the middle who tried hanging around at the crease to carry out the recovery work for the Men in Green.Â

Tahir overran on that occasion and then fell down trying to recover to stop the ball. Commentator Mike Haysman was left in splits seeing Tahir tumbling on the field following his effort to recover after he overran while attempting to stop the ball.
