After his brilliant display in the Australia and New Zealand series, MS Dhoni has climbed three spots up to finish at the 17th rank in the batting chart. Meanwhile, the Indian team, after winning the ODI series against NZ, cemented their second position on the table in the ODI team rankings.

The latest update of ICC rankings has taken into account India’s three-match series against Australia, the five-match ODI series between South Africa and Pakistan, and the three-match series between the UAE and Nepal. The Indian team proved to be the biggest beneficiary as they cemented their stand in the second position on the rankings table for the teams whereas players like MS Dhoni, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Kedar Jadhav gained respective rises in each of bowlers and batsman rankings.

Dhoni now stands at the 17th position in the batting list for a run which included three consecutive half-centuries against Australia. While Yuzvendra Chahal (5th) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (17th) have gained respective ranks in the latest rankings of bowlers, Kedar Jadhav also made it to the 35th rank for ODI batsman.

Trent Boult also moved up to the third position in the rankings for bowlers after finishing with 12 wickets in the recently-concluded series against India. Boult topped the rankings in January 2016 and is again on his way up with only Jasprit Bumrah and Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan leading the list ahead of him.
