With eyes on ICC Women’s Championship points and a direct qualification for the 2021 World Cup, Jhulan Goswami has asserted that the BCCI will decide the fate of the Indo-Pak game. The pace spearhead has also mentioned that she is enjoying the rhythm and trying to control things around her.

With the rise in tension in both the sides of the border, the fate of sporting ties between India and Pakistan are in some doubts now. There have been growing demands from many to boycott the Cricket World Cup game against Pakistan to be held on June 16.

Meanwhile, India pacer Goswami has come out to say that the board will decide on the Indian women’s team game against Pakistan as there are important points of ICC Women’s Championship at stake. India is currently leading the three-match series 2-0 against England at home.

“It will be decided by the BCCI. We do not know what will happen against Pakistan, but yes all the matches are important for us and we should try to play positive and good cricket in those matches,” Goswami told reporters ahead of the third ODI against England, reported ANI.

India are at the second position on the points table of the ICC Women’s Championship with 16 points from 14 games. On the other hand, arch-rivals Pakistan are placed fifth with 12 points to their name.

Meanwhile, Goswami performed exceedingly well in the previous game against England as she picked up four wickets to restrict them for a mere 161. In the first ODI of the series, she had contributed 30 runs with the bat and also claimed a wicket. India now has an unassailable lead against England with a 2-0 lead and the last game will be played in Mumbai on Thursday.

“I think since South Africa tour I have been bowling well. I bowled well in the series against England and Sri Lanka as well. Now, I am just enjoying my rhythm and I am trying to control the things as much as I can. As a senior player, I have a lot of responsibility and as you get older you need to stick to the plans,” the Bengal pacer said.

“I do not tell anything to youngsters. I just do my routine work and try to play every type of match. I am just concerned with my routine. I just try to tell them that it is not about technique every time, sometimes it is about the process as well. Hardly, you see on Indian soil, the medium-pacers take wickets because the wickets are different here. Shikha and I compliment each other really well and it paid off in the previous match.”
