Cheteshwar Pujara has lavished praise on Indian teammates after the historic series win in Australia and claimed that the current Indian Test team is the best one that heā€™s been involved in. Pujara, who registered three centuries against Australia, was adjudged as Man of the Series on the weekend.

Saurashtra-born Cheteshwar Pujara starred for the visitors as he scored a fine 193 in the first innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground which helped India reach a mammoth total of 622/7. While Virat Kohli & Co. had to settle for a draw in the final game of the series, they were more than happy to register a first-ever series win on Australian soil after holding on to the 2-1 lead achieved after winning the Boxing Day Test.

Pujara, who scored three centuries in the recently concluded series and amassed a massive 521 runs, was also adjudged as Man of the Series at the conclusion of the final Test match. The 30-year old was all smiles as he revealed that the current Indian team is the best Test squad that heā€™s been a part of in the entirety of his career.

"It's a great feeling for all of us. We've been working hard to win a series overseas, and winning in Australia has never been easy. This is the best Indian side I have been part of. I would like to congratulate the team," Pujara told PTI sources after the series win.

The former RCB batsman also lavished praise on the Indian bowling attack who backed the batsmen superbly throughout the series. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and even Kuldeep Yadav all starred for the visitors in the series win against Tim Paine & Co.

"We've had four bowlers, and it's not easy taking 20 wickets, so credit goes to all our fast bowlers and spinners...It is remarkable," Pujara added.

Pujara, in particular, was brilliant right from the series opener in Adelaide when he registered scores of 123 & 71 to help India to a crucial opening win and take a 1-0 lead. The seasoned Test batsman cited that he spent a good amount of time to prepare himself for the series which helped him put in a good performance.

"I am really pleased with my contribution. As a batsman, I was just getting used to the pace and bounce. Apart from that, playing in South Africa and England has helped me improve my technique. For me, it's all about preparation and I was very well prepared," Pujara added.
