Liam Livingston has hinted that since the Rajasthan Royals have four players from England in their squad, they are likely to be preferred by the cricket fans from England in this year’s Indian Premier League. The 12th edition of IPL is scheduled to start from March 23rd in India.

Liam Livingstone has expressed that since the Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals has many players from England, the franchise is likely to be the favourites of the English cricket fans. Royals also have Ben Sokes, Jos Butler and Jofra Archer in their squad apart from the new recruit Livingston.

"I've played cricket with Ben at Cumbria and Jos at Lancs, so I think that will be the best part of it, some familiar faces. It's great to be going to a franchise with guys I already know, so hopefully, that'll help me settle into the environment a little quicker.

"It's obviously great to have the English contingent, and that'll give us a big following back home in England, for people who don't really support a team in the IPL, they'll see four English lads in one squad and take a lot of interest in that," Livingstone told ESPNcricinfo.

Livingston’s batting caught the eye of the Royals who included him in their squad for 50 lakh. He scored 318 runs in seven matches which also included a 49-ball century for his domestic side. He also possesses a decent T20 career record in last year or so hence the franchise showed an interest in him.

"I think that was one of the reasons I wanted to go into the auction, even though I'll miss part of the season with Lancs. The experience of being in the changing room with some of the best players in the world, and playing against them, and seeing how they operate from day to day, that was one of the attractions of going in,” the Englishman explained.

Livingston also expressed that he is ready to show his capability if given a chance to play in the playing XI. He will share the dressing room with some of the best international cricketers like Ajinkya Rahane and Australia’s Steve Smith.

"If I get the chance to play, I hope I can show people what I'm about. I would like to see myself as flexible and willing to try a few different positions. I'm just going out there with an open mind and, if I get the chance to do anything, hopefully, I'll be ready to take it," Livingstone added.
