Thereā€™s nothing more unfortunate for a batsman to be dismissed than a run-out but what is worse is getting run-out by your own teammate. Thatā€™s exactly what happened to Sydney Thundersā€™ Jonathan Cook who was run out by teammate Gurinder Sandhu off a Harry Gurney delivery on Wednesday.

The Big Bash League often throws up some interesting action for cricket fans who watch the Australian domestic tournament all across theĀ globe. This time the highlight was a bizarre run-out that occurred in the match between Sydney Thunders and Melbourne Renegades at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne.

The Renegadesā€™ ultimately won the match on their home turf as they beat Thunders by 27 runs on January 30. One of the highlights of the match was the bizarre run-out of visiting team player - Jonathan Cook.

The incident occurred in the second innings when Thunder were chasing down a target of 141 set by the home team. Struggling at 110/8, Cook was run-out by bowler Harry Gurney after colliding with teammate Gurinder Sandhu while trying to sneak through a quick single.

The two Thunderā€™s batsmen were blinded by Gurney coming in their way and collided into each other. Cook, who lost his helmet as a result of the collision, was left stranded in the middle as Gurney threw the ball to his wicket-keeper Harper, who dislodged the bails.
