Smriti Mandhana, who was named Player of the Tournament in the 2018 edition of the Kia Super League, will return to play for Western Storm in the 2019 edition as well. Mandana will play for Storm alongside fellow Indian Deepti Sharma who was snapped up by the team last week.

Indian opener Smriti Mandhana will continue to represent Western Storm in the 2019 edition of England's Women's Cricket Super League, after being re-signed by the franchise for the upcoming season. Mandhana was named Player of the Tournament last season, as she scored 421 runs at an average of 60.11 and a strike rate of 174.68 which included a hundred and two fifties.

"I enjoyed my time with Western Storm last year and I'm looking forward to coming back in 2019. We played some outstanding cricket last year and hopefully, we can go a little further this season and lift the trophy. "Everyone involved with Western Storm made me feel so welcome and, if given the opportunity, I was always going to come back," Mandhana told the team's website, speaking about re-signing with the franchise.

"The culture around the team, from top to bottom, was very good and I know that everyone will be looking for success once again. The squad has a good mix of experienced players plus young players who have a point to prove. I hope that I can score the runs that will help to contribute to a successful year for Western Storm," the Indian opener added.

Mandana will play alongside fellow Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who was signed up by the team last week. The 2019 edition of the Women's Cricket Super League is set to commence from August 6.
