Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin continued to impress in his county stint with Nottinghamshire as he claimed his second consecutive five-wicket haul of the season. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane's disappointment continued as he struck his third consecutive single digit score, managing just one run.

Ravichandran Ashwin continued to take County Cricket by storm as the Indian off-spinner dismantled Surrey with figures of 6/69, his best of the season so far. Ashwin claimed the wickets of Surrey's top four batsmen, including international cricketers Rory Burns and Dean Elgar. Ashwin then claimed the wickets of Jordan Clark and Gareth Batty towards the back end of the innings to complete a five-wicket haul, his second of the season.

Ashwin has now taken 17 wickets in just four innings in the first division of the County Championship for Nottinghamshire this season, at an incredible average of 22.52.

Meanwhile, things continued to go downhill for India's Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who was dismissed for just one run off the bowling of Matt Milnes. Rahane, who has been playing for Hampshire this season, started the season off with a bang scoring 114 on his debut, but has since struggled for runs, having scored just one fifty in the following 11 innings, which includes three ducks.

Both Ashwin and Rahane are expected to be a part of India's test squad to tour the Windies, with the first test set to commence from August 22.
