After a thrilling final, English keeper-batsman Jos Buttler has stated that no team deserved to lose and gave New Zealand due credits for a fantastic game. The final saw a nerve-wracking finish as the match went into a super over and the number of boundaries scored ultimately made the difference.

In cricket, small things make massive difference and both New Zealand and England would testify that. For the first time in the history of World Cups, a final game went into the super over, which also ended up in a tie. With a bit of luck on their side, England managed to lift the coveted trophy for the first time with a superior amount of boundaries hit in the innings.

Jos Buttler accounted for a match-winning stand alongside Ben Stokes and also chipped in with some crucial runs in the super over. Buttler reckoned that no team deserved to lose and credited New Zealand for an incredible game. New Zealand came so close to winning the World Cup, but luck didn’t favour them at all as they lost two World Cup finals in a row.

“No team deserved to lose. Credit to New Zealand for a fantastic game. They will be gutted, they did not deserve to lose. It is really hard to sort of sum up," Buttler said, reported ANI.

Buttler was elated for being a part of the final and has said that it was hard to believe what happened. He chipped in with a crucial fifty but got out at a very crucial time, which hampered England’s run.

"I'd say it was one of those games you watch on cricket classics and surely not even believe it can happen. Having got out in the game (during 50-over) was sort of frustration. Then see some of those boundaries later in the game and go through all of those emotions," he said.
